WSC introduces Water Systems Primer and Refresher Continuing Education Series

Trainers at ExpoThe Water Systems Primer and Refresher Continuing Education series was introduced at the 2013 NGWA Expo in Nashville on December 6, 2013. This new training program is staffed by trainers from WSC member companies and is in collaboration with NGWA. The series uses the WSC Handbook as the training manual, with an additional section on solar power provided by Franklin Electric Company.

The topics included Well Fundamentals, Pumps, Community Water Systems, Solar Power, Service, Components, Electrical Safety, and Water Quality Assurance. At the NGWA Expo, 21 participants received a free WSC Handbook and .575 DEUs or 5.75 CEPs.

WSC has created a new committee to oversee these continuing education courses and to develop other course offerings. Xylem’s Kyle Schoenheit is chairman of the committee.

This program will be ongoing. Other scheduled venues for training include the South Atlantic Jubilee on July 26-28, 2014 in Myrtle Beach, SC and at NGWA’s 2014 Expo in Las Vegas on December 9, 2014.

A special thanks to the companies and organizations that have provided the skilled trainers that staff this program, including Xylem, Flexcon Industries, Franklin Electric Company Inc., Baker Manufacturing Company LLC, 2M Company Inc., the Water Quality Association, Grundfos Pumps Corporation, Amtrol Inc., and Pacific NW Sales Company.
